My sincere apologies for being off for so long. I've missed y'all so much.
I got so many messages from people asking what was wrong and saying they missed my posts up here, especially the tips and pictures. Thanks guys, and brace yourselves 'cuz have I got lots and lots of stuffs to share :)

Oh, and for my look in the picture above, I kept it quite natural. Being a makeup artist that spends the better part of almost everyday applying makeup on others, I tend to keep my makeup as light as possible except when I'm going for events. Below are the detailed steps and products used to getting the look.

Eyebrow 202: How to pencil your brows perfectly

Last month on the eye brow series, the post was on How to shape your brows perfectly. The request from people on how to pencil their brows have been high so here's the sequel and it's on how to pencil your brows perfectly.
Use these 7 easy and straightforward steps to get the perfect eyebrow shape. Tools needed?
a) Eyebrow pencil or Brow powder
b) Foundation, Powder or Concealer (Two shades lighter than your skin tone)
c) Brow brush or an unused Mascara wand. (An old toothbrush will also do the trick)
d) Slanted brush (optional)

Amazing Transformations... Adeola

I wonder why some people claim that pink make up is not for dark people. Are you beefing us 'cuz black is beautiful? Lol. Okay, so we agreed to do this makeup session in the studio so as to prove that dark complexioned people too can wear pink makeup. One of the students, Adeola kindly volunteered her face for us to use and we chose to do a bold Nigerian traditional wedding look using pink & red.

Shrink your pores.... DIY Method

Ever been plagued by facial pores that are so huge, people can practically see into your skin? Are you skeptical of cleansers and toners that seem to do more harm than good to the skin because of the harsh chemical contents?
Well, here's a DIY toner mixture to help shrink those pores. The good thing about it? It's totally organic. So, here's how:
Mix a 1/4 cup of tomato juice and a 1/4 cup of water melon juice together. Mix and dab it on your face either in the morning or at night. Believe me, the pores shrink instantly. Mixture lasts up to three days if kept refrigerated.

I just had to share the pictures of Mrs Femeke, the most delightful client i have ever worked with. I met her when i got the call to do her makeup for Bishop David Oyedepo's daughter's wedding on the 21st & 23rd of March, 2013.
She is a mother and a grandmother yet, she remains an ageless beauty with one of the most beautiful skin i have ever worked on in my line of work.
I had to ask her the secret of her lovely skin and you won't believe it, it's Shea Butter. How to use it to get a soft and smooth skin? Just wash your face with warm water and soap at night then apply the Shea Butter all over your face. Massage it into the skin till it's well absorbed. In just a matter of weeks, you'll notice the permanent change in your skin.
She's not prone to wearing much makeup so we tried to strike the balance with shades of gold. Enjoy the pictures.

Controversy over Senate President's Car Gift to the Idibia's

The controversial car

Ooookay, it's really heating up on social media, the angst youths have over the car gift  Senator David Mark gave to Tuface & Annie Idibia. The senate president allegedly presented the Idibia's with a brand new Chevy Corvette car during their wedding ceremony in Dubai last weekend.

 You might recall that barely one week after 2face & Annie's traditional wedding in Eket, Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio presented the bride with a brand new Toyota Prado SUV and sponsored 20 of her family members to Dubai for the white wedding at an estimated cost of roughly 3 million Naira.

The whole of Sango-Ota, Ogun State was buzzing with the white wedding of Bishop David Oyedepo's daughter to her long term sweetheart, Steve Ogah. The wedding took place yesterday, 23rd March, 2013 at Winners Chapel, Cannan Land. The bride looked absolutely fabulous, her wedding dress was so classy and elegant.
The parents of the couple were gorgeously dressed in Orange & Chocolate Brown Aso-Oke. ( The groom's mother was styled by Reddin's Beauty).

Love Oyedepo, the first daughter of Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Tabernacle a.k.a Winners Chapel weds her long time sweetheart today 21st March, 2013. The groom, Stephen Ogah is a graduate of Covenant University and works as Bishop Oyedepo's personal assistant.
The traditional wedding took place at the church premises and the white wedding will be holding on Saturday, 23rd March, 2013. We wish the couple marital bliss.

I've attended some weddings where the decor was so bad, my options were either to turn my back & face the exit or to burst into tears of sympathy for the couple. Or do I talk about the events where the colour combination was so garish, I dared not remove my sunshades for fear of retinal damage.
But then, the decor and place settings at some events I've attended remain engraved in my memory; they were so beautiful, they made my teeth ache. Decors you see and you can't help placing a hand on your chest and whispering reverently O!M!G!.
I've discovered that it's not so much a matter of funds as much as a sense of style, a creative mind(s) and an eye for beauty that makes all the difference.

President Chavez passes on

Late President Hugo Chavez

Venezuela's president, President Hugo Rafael Chavez is dead. He lost his batttle with cancer yesterday, 5th of March at around 4:25pm in a Caracas military hospital. The tragic news was  announced by the Vice President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro shortly after the President passed on.
President Chavez had been checked into the hospital since 18th of Feb, 2013 to continue chemotheraphy, two months after his return from Cuba where he had undergone his fourth round of cancer surgery since June 2011. A cancerous tumour was removed from his pelvic region but the exact nature and location of his cancer was never revealed.

The couple whose love story has been very controversial to say the least will be having their traditional marriage ceremony on friday, 8th of March at the Apostolic High School, Esit Urua Community in Ibeno Local Govt Uyo, which happens to be Annie's hometown. They plan having their white wedding in Dubai on the 23rd of March, 2013.

Aso Ebi Palava (1)

 

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who absolutely dreads Aso Ebi wahala. Either you are the one choosing it or the one buying it, Aso Ebi usually comes with a lot of stress (most of them avoidable). Today, I'm going to take it from the point of view of the person buying it for a friend's wedding or special occassion.

Imagine a scenario where the  wedding is coming up next week and till now, you're yet to get the Aso Ebi chosen (assumimg you've paid o). I always roll my eyes and wonder if I'm supposed to tie it as a wrapper to the event when they finally bring it 3/4 days to the wedding *mschheeww*
And then the tailor/designer drama starts. You need to see me begging and grovelling on my knees in desperation, almost promising the tailor my first born child if he will just get the Aso Ebi converted to something remotely resembling a dress, skirt or even agbada, JUST SEW SOMETHING!!! Of course, you'll always end up paying triple the normal amount, God have mercy.
But seriously, there are ways to beat the hassle associated with picking Aso Ebi for an event and this will be discussed in the next aso ebi palava series.

Jimmy Odukoya who is a licenced pastor as well as a gospel hip hop artiste will be tying the knot with his heart-throb of over 3 years, Oluwakemi Sade Banjoko who is a graduate of the University of Manchester, at St. Mary's Church, Saffron Walden in the United Kingdom. They plan to have a private reception at  Quendon Hall, Quendon park estate, Saffron Walden. Aren't they the cutest couple ever? Happy married life in advance guys.
