Tips for long lasting perfume

Don't you just hate it when you spritz on your favorite perfume on your way out in the morning only to have it disappear by lunchtime? Fragrance may not be an essential part of our morning routine but it is definitely a way for us to express ourselves, feel more confident, happier and even sexier.
To understand the scent that wows or catches attention, we must first understand that fragrances don't last forever. To get the best out of your fragrance, try the following tips:

* Keep your fragrance in a cool, dry area and keep perfumes away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients.
* Store unopened or infrequently used perfume in its box to ensure longer shelf life. (Fragrances usually last three years from the date  they were manufactured).
* Moisturize your skin well before using your fragrance. This helps the scent to last because the oil on the skin traps the fragrance notes and makes them last longer. Fragrance notes don't hold on well to dry skin.
* Reapply perfume throughout the day. If you have dry skin or heading out later in the evening for a night out, carry your fragrance in a small travel size bottle that makes reapplying easier.

How to apply

Fragrances usually lasts for 4-8 hours, depending on quality and concentration of essential oils. When applying them,
* Spray or dab on your perfume, concentrating on your pulse points. These points includes the wrists, neck, between the breasts and even behind the the knees. The veins are close to the skin in these areas and blood circulation there enhances release of fragrance.
* Do not rub wrists together or rub skin after applying fragrance. This breaks down the oils and destroys the fragrance.
* Lightly mist fragrance through your hair or spray it in the air and walk through it as it settles to exude a delicate fragrance.
* Less is more. Do not over use your fragrance. We sometimes tend not to smell our own perfumes after using them, that doesn't mean it's not noticeable though.
* Do not apply fragrance directly on clothes. This causes stains on your clothes and also, it doesn't diffuse the scent as nicely as the natural oils on your skin.
Apply fragrance in those areas where you would like to be kissed- Coco Chanel.
If you like, spray it in your mouth; you didn't get that from Reddin's o *winks*
